CHRISTmas time

I know that is has been a while since I have blogged. I have had no time to get on and post anything so now I am going to update it.
Let me start with Friday. Friday I went to work even though I was not feeling that good. Later on that evening I went with my brother to get rest of the Christmas shopping done. On my way home I stopped at Food Lion to get some stuff for Saturday dinner. Once I got home I went ahead and cut up the tomato and cucumbers that I needed for the salad. Once I was done with that, I got Scot to help me wrap some gifts.. I think that we finally went to bed sometime after midnight.
Saturday morning Garrett woke us up at 6:45 a.m. to see what he got from Santa. He was really excited when he saw that he got a new bike. Once he was done opening gifts that Santa brought him he opened up more gifts that were from Scot and I. I was feeling really bad still so I went back to bed and stayed in bed till about 2 p.m. Then it was time for me to get ready for rest of the Wright family to come over to Nana's for family time and a dinner. Once everyone got done eating we all gathered in the living room to open gifts. That was a full room. I was amazed that all the gifts and all of us could fit in there. The kids opened up their gifts first. Then Nana and Pa opened up theirs, then Mamaw and Papaw opened theirs. The parents waited last to open their gifts. Scot and Joy took some great pictures. When I get the chance I will post them on here. After all the gifts were unwrapped it was time for some dessert and relaxing time. I think that everyone started leaving around 8:30 p.m. But, Joy, Chad, Scot, and I stayed up till about midnight just talking in the kitchen..That was fun.
Sunday morning Scot, Garrett and I had to get ready and go to my parents house for a wonderful brunch that my mom made. I have pictures from then too, I will post them when I get them together.. Garrett got another gift from my parents. My grandma Maier was there so she opened up hers because for the first time in a long time she had to work Christmas day. We got done over there around 12:30 p.m. Scot, Garrett and I went to my brothers house after that to see his pup Ginger. We got back to Nana's sometime around 1:45 p.m. The rest of the family was there again to enjoy some really good food. I was not feeling good still, so I went upstairs and crawled into bed. I woke up sometime after 5. Lets see what else did we do after that. I think that Scot and Garrett played some video games and I stayed in bed..We finally crawled into bed around 11 p.m. again.
Monday Scot woke up early to play with Garrett before he had to go home with Lisa. She picked him up around 9:00 a.m. Then Scot and I got ready again and went to my parents house to have Christmas lunch with them and open more gifts. My sister was able to make it. Even though she had people calling her and asking her to go in for them. She told them that she couldn't because she wanted to spend time with her family. That meant a lot to me... Brendan, Lizz, Scot, and I played SKIPO till lunch was ready. Once we got done eating, I helped mom with the dishes. Then it was time to go in the living room and open gifts. I want to thank all my family for the wonderful gifts that Scot and I received from all of you. We love you guys.. I took a few pics. Once we got done with that mom, Brendan, Scot, and I went to MTMC to see my grandma and wish her a Merry Christmas. She was surprised to see us. I know that it made her day. After we got done visiting with her we went back home and played another round of SKIPO. My brother won that game. Scot and I left my parents place around 6:010 p.m. and went to see some friends of ours. We wen to see Mike Bain and Tiff.. We did not stay there long because Scot had to get home and get some sleep. He has to work the next morning.
Yesterday, Scot got up at 6:00 a.m. and went to work. I could only sleep in till about 8 a.m. I got dressed and went to Sonic and picked up some food for Scot and Carl.. Then I drove to Murfreesboro to go SALE shopping with my brother and sister..Scot called later on that morning telling me that he was off for the rest of the day. So when I got done in Murfreesboro I met up with him at the Walpers. Then he and I drove back to Murfreesboro and went shopping with my sis. The three of us went to IHOP, then to Hobby Town. (Yup, Scot spent his gift card that Charlie got him.) Then off to Target where I got a few scrap booking stuff with the gift card that my sister gave me. Then we went to Hobby Lobby and I got a new scrapbook kit with a gift card that my wonderful sister-in-law Joy gave me. (Thank you very much Joy). Then Scot and I went to Heather and Philips to have a wonderful dinner. Scot and I finally got home around 9 p.m. It was time for us to crawl into bed and get some sleep before we had to get up and go to work this morning. So that is how my last few days have been. I know that it is a little long. I hope that I did not keep you bored..
I just want to say thank you to everyone that has touched my life. The best thing out of the past few days was that I was able to spend a lot of time with my Wright and Bratcher families. I love you all very much.
I will post my pictures hopefully sometime tomorrow...Sorry that you have to wait...

Visiting Friends

Brendan and I decided to go see some friends of ours that we have known for the past ten years. We left right after I got off work on Friday. WE got to the Hooks house about 9:30 our time. We sat up till about 12:30 or so just talking about what has been going on in our lived.

Saturday morning we woke up around 9a.m. and had wonderful breakfast that was prepared for us. Mrs. Hook had to go to work at 2p.m. So Brendan and I left around noon and headed to Gatlinburg to go do some shopping. We walked around for a few hours. Believe or not I did not find anything that I really liked. On the other hand Brendan found a few things that he liked and got. We started heading back around 5:30p.m. When we got back to the Hooks we had a wonderful dinner prepared by Mr. Hook. After dinner we just sat around again and relaxed. We also got the chance to learn about Bee's. Plus I learned that honey never goes bad. Brendan and Mr. Hook left around 11p.m. to go pick up Mrs. Hook from work. She works at the hospital as a nurse. Once they got home we stayed up till about 11:30p.m. talking about cats and family.

Sunday morning we had a big breakfast. After that we just enjoyed each others company. We watched birds on the porch. Then Mr. Hook took us outside and showed us how he fed his bees. And some other neat things. Mrs. hook gotready to go to work again, and Brendan and I packed up the car and got ready to getback on the road to go home. Brendan and I had a wonderful time.

Mr. and Mrs. Hook,
Thank you so much for allowing Brendan and I to stay at your place. Thank you for the wonderful meals that you prepared for us. Also thank you so much for the honey. I had some when I got home. Hopefully we will see you soon. Next time we are going to make sure that the whole family comes including Scot. :P.

Crab...

Last night my sister took me to eat at Chef Wangs. She asked me to try some new things. So I did. I tried Ginger. Let me tell you that stuff is nasty. The thing is, I asked Lizz what does it taste like before I tried it. Well she told me that it tasted like Vinegar. She was wrong...It has a really bitter taste. The other thing that she wanted me to try was a beef thing that looks like a dumpling. That was not that bad except that it was really really greasy. Lizz I enjoyed eating dinner with you. You are awesome. Thank you for listening to me and being the sis that you are. We never have a dull moment anytime that we are together. I am looking forward you getting on myspace. That is going to be really fun. Es milu tevi masa.

Hey guys I just want to let you know that there is a yucky thing going around. I know that Abby is sick. Last night Scot was not feeling that great. He did not go work out with Philip like they usually do. Instead he went to bed at 7:30p.m. This morning he woke up sounding really bad. So he stayed home. I hope that he can get a lot of rest. I know that he was not sleeping that well either. So please pray for everyone that has the bug. The weather does not help any either..I know that I am going to do my best to make sure that i don't catch it.

This is my new addiction. I started watching it last night

I would like to thank my mom and dad for taking in three kids from another country and putting all of their heart and soul into us. I have learned so many things from you. Thank you for standing by my side when I needed you. There have been times that I may not have been the best daughter but you both never pushed me away. Thank you for loving me as much as you do. You both are great parents. I could not as for better ones. I love you both very much.

Brendan, you are the best brother that I sister can have. Thank you so much for watching out for me. I know that I can count on you no matter what. You are always there to get me out of a mess. If it that my car will not start you let me use yours, or if I need something to be hooked up, or just to talk to someone. I also want to thank you for taking care of my tow boys that means the world to me. Thank you for being the brother that everyone wishes that they could have. I love you with everything that I have. Elizabeth, you are the only sister that I have and the best one as well. I know that during our childhood we have had our ups and downs but you still are my sister. I love you very much. Grandma Bratcher, I am not sure where to start with you. First and far most I just want to tell you that you are an inspiration to me. Thank you for being a great grandma. R.I.P Grandpa

I know that it has been a while since I have blogged. I am not sure how many of you know that my grandpa past away last Friday. So ever since then my week has been busy. Scot and I drove up to Iowa with my grandma, mom, dad, and my brother Brendan. The visitation and the funeral was in Eagle Grove, IA. That is where my grandpa spent most of his life. The weather in Iowa was really cold but we did not see any snow.

When I get the chance I am going to post some of the pictures that I took while we were there. I just want to thank everyone that kept us in prayers. I really needed that. This is something that is going to be hard for me to understand. I have so many memories of my grandpa. That is something that I am going to keep close to my heart. Scot told me this, the hardest thing that I am going to have to do is know that he is not here with us. I can't drive to the community care and go see him. I am going to remember that the only way that I can talk to him is through my prayers. I love you grandpa very much. You are the BEST grandpa that I have.

P.S. I am not really into blogging at this time. Sorry for making you guys wait to see what I have posted.

Bernard Charles Maier
Bernard Charles Maier, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Hamer) Maier, was born on May 22, 1930, east of Eagle Grove, Iowa, on the parental farm. He attended Dayton Township School 7 until he went to Eagle Grove schools in the 5th grade. He missed a year of school during his junior year due to polio. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1949 and had been a member of FFA and was awarded membership in the National Honor Society. Following graduation he attended Iowa State University, returning to farm before he graduated. Later he returned to Iowa Central College and received his Associates Degree.On Sept. 1, 1951, Bernie was united in marriage with Vernice Fischer in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa. They had eight children: five sons and three daughters.He continued to farm east of Eagle Grove, worked as a parts manager for Umthun Trucking, in the parts department of Jones John Deere Store and Dows Coop before moving to Murfreesboro, Tn., in June of 1988. Bernie was employed full time until was forced to retire due to failing health.Bernie served on the Gold Eagle Coop Board of Directors from 1977 to 1983, the Wright County Fair Board from 1959 to 1984 serving as President for six years, was a member of the Wright County Cattleman Association, the Wright County Pork Producers and a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.He enjoyed playing many kinds of cards, attending sports events and the children's various activities.Bernie died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Joseph; twin grandchildren Kelsey and Joseph Maier; and a brother-in-law John Crovisier.Survivors include his wife Vernice Maier of Murfreesboro; children David Maier of Denver, Colo., Steven Maier and wife Susie of London, England, and Madrid, Spain, Jeanne Burgart and husband David of Clear Lake, Iowa, Jim Maier and wife Jennifer of Charlotte, S.C., Teresa Wallace and husband Jim of Clive, Iowa, Jerry Maier and wife Susan of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Brian Maier and wife Maureen of Greenville, S.C. and Carole Bratcher and husband John of Murfreesboro; grandchildren: Ryan and Scott Maier, Katy Maier, Phillip Burgart and wife Jana, Michael Burgart and wife Alyssa, Sara and A.J. Burgart, Brandon and Brett Maier, Andrew, Elizabeth and Patrick Maier Elizabeth and Brendan Bratcher, Catherine Wright and husband Scott; sisters Lucille Crovisier of Eagle Grove, Iowa and Virginia Maher of Westfield, N.J.; brother Dick Maier of Ames, Iowa; sister-in-law Lorene Maier of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and many friends and other relatives. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Chris Podhajsky officiating. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friday Nite was a movie night for the girls. Toni, Joy, and I went to Leslies house to watch "Lake House". That movie is a good one to watch, but I know that I am going to have to watch it one more time to understand it better. Joy was the only one that had already seen the movie. We got done watching the movie around 8:30p.m. Toni and Emmy went home, while Joy and I stayed there and just talked to Leslie and Charlie. Joy next time try no to keep me out so late. LOL.. I had a wonderful time. I am looking forward to the next movie night. I love you girls..

Here are some pics of a Monkey that I got to play with yesterday. I was closing the office yesterday afternoon and then here comes a family that wants to rent a truck. Well they also brought in their monkey that they had adopted. His name is Zizzy and he is about 6 months old. That made my afternoon. I never thought that I would get to play with a monkey while I am working. LOL
